Overview

The Senior Manager - Software Enginer directs the teams of systems engineers and software engineers who design control systems for industrial material handling solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Leads and directs the Software Engineering organization, including but not limited to setting department budget, assigning projects to team members, conducting performance reviews, setting department goals, training, mentoring, and coaching department members, and managing direct reports

  • Ensures successful completion of software engineering projects, including development, quality assurance, release management, maintenance, project delivery, and engineering support

  • Leads technical strategy for the organization and maintains standards and procedures

  • Ensures that Wynright software applications, engineering documentation, and processes are maintained

  • Ensures internal and external communications in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment

  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget

  • Travels to customer sites as needed to evaluate installation and team performance

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience proven technical management in the material handling industry

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to lead, manage, coach, and train all levels of employees

  • Strong engineering and technical expertise with knowledge of WCS, WMS, or Automation technology

  • Knowledge of engineering best practices, including SDLC, monitoring, metrics, inventory, utilization planning, agile project management, and automation

  • Strong project management and coordination skills

  • Knowledge of budgets and accounting principles

  • Ability to interface with internal and external customers, vendors, and executive management

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented environment

  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented

  • Team-oriented and collaborative
