Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Graphic Designer to develop graphics, website design, UX design, print and digital collateral, and event graphics for offices across the division of enrollment management. Must be experienced in working in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to work well under tight schedules. Proven expertise in UX and ability to incorporate user experience throughout all projects is essential for this position.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to graphic design, production, website design, photography; project management.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related area, or equivalency; five years of related experience and a portfolio at the time of the interview; demonstrated effective communication skills; the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.
Graphic Design: Strong knowledge and experience in artistic and graphic design and illustration, including the ability to design, layout, and prepare finished artwork for implementation in print, digital, social media, and other communication channels. Advanced knowledge of design and communications concepts utilizing applicable design software applications including Adobe Creative Suite. Proven ability to translate communication needs into artistic design that produce results on time and within budget.
Production: Deep knowledge of production techniques and processes with the ability to prepare camera ready/print ready/web ready materials. Experienced in creating projects and collaterals that meet specifications for printing and/or digital publications.
Website Design: Experienced in designing webpages and websites that emphasize UX that presents well on a variety of user devices, including mobile.
Photography: Knowledge and experience in producing and working with in-house photography, incorporating stock photography, and managing/maintaining visual assets.
Project Management: Ability to plan and execute design projects and handle multiple priorities. Working knowledge of copyright laws applicable to design work and creative properties.
Technical Skills: Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) on Mac platform, HTML , CSS , Javascript, Flash, CMS and multiple platforms, WordPress and Omni-update
Advanced interpersonal communications skills, including active listening skills and skills to work effectively within teams to effectively provide advanced design advice and consultation to clients on all aspects of visual communications.
Preferences
Higher Ed or agency experience.
