AtZions Bancorporation we are currently seeking an experienced Power BI Engineerfor this opportunity. They will be responsiblefor contributing the design, development and implementation of our data modelsand reports that will be built on Microsoft Azure DevOps data and otherpotential correlating data sources. The data models will support largequalities of data with the ability to do incremental updates on a scheduledbasis. These will then supportdashboards and reports as needed for the Zions SDLC. These will include reports around the agileprocess, status of the requirements, testing and development processes, worktraceability reporting, progress trends as well as the quality and maturity ofprojects and teams across the enterprise.

Tobe successful in this opportunity the Power BI Engineer will create data modelsfrom SDLC and Product Delivery (DevOps) pipeline raw data that in turn will beconsumed by product/enterprise dashboards and reports that are then used tooversee and manage at all levels within Zions.

The intent is to leverage and envision reports from the native Power BI Premiumserver and reporting features and data warehouse, data set, data consumptionfunctionalities as much as possible, without having to create and manageseparate ETL and data warehouse capabilities. Should custom warehousing berequired, then this individual will help with those capabilities as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Createand manage reports, dashboards, datasets in Power BI

  • Expertlyuse multiple data source types, including oData to create helpful and performantreports and dashboards.

  • Skillfullyand innovatively use and join complex data objects and concepts to createunique reports as specified by team leadership and stakeholders.

  • Understandthe needs and intent of report specifications in order to work rapidly and withleast interruption.

  • Workiteratively and demo progress regularly to ensure best outcomes.

  • Develop,maintain, and extend schemas, warehouse and ETL process as needed.

  • Leveragescripting skills (like Python, SQL Plus, or Powershell) in order to move orload data as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Expertisewith Power BI is required

  • Deepexperience with report and dashboard development in BI tools like BusinessObjects and Power BI.

  • Experiencewith scripting (python, Unix shell, JavaScript, VBA) and/or Object orientedprogramming experience

  • Domainknowledge of data warehouse and business intelligence concepts and architecture

  • Experiencewith SQL

  • Experiencewith Star Schemas

  • Experiencederiving/understand data structures without documented structures

  • 6 years of experience with BI tools, concepts and architecture

  • 6 years of experience with ETL and data warehouse concepts and architecture

  • 6 years of experience with SQL (complex joins, math, aggregations, etc.)

  • 4 years of experience scripting or coding

  • 4 years of experience with star schemas

  • 4 years of experience with Power BI

  • Requires in-depth knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques

  • Solid organizational, time management and judgment skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience required

  • A combination of education and experience may meet requirements

Plus:

  • Experiencewith web development (JavaScript, HTML, XML, XSL, CSS)

  • Experiencewith the Microsoft Azure DevOps data concepts
