BioFire Diagnostics, LLC. Business Analyst III/IV (SAP MFG/SC) in Salt Lake City, Utah

BioFire Diagnostics, LLC. is looking for a Business Analyst II or III to join our growing team! On the IS Business Solutions team, this Business Analyst role will directly support the Manufacturing and Supply Chain business teams along with the SAP data and processes related to Manufacturing. The Business Analyst participates in design, development, maintenance, and support of complex business applications and solutions to support successful business activities. SAP experience is required.

Analyst will be capable of understanding complex SAP, CRM and additional systems application architecture and how it relates to business processes to provide value to organization through high quality customer service to internal parties and strong relationship management with partners outside the business.

Analyst will apply knowledge of IT principles, business processes and standards to research, design, configure, develop, test and debug all application development. Analyst will evaluate and understand integration dependencies associated with hardware, software, business requirements, and system characteristics while adhering to strategies, policies, and standards associated with task being performed. Emphasis on a technical understanding of systems and their administration along with system configuration as needed.

Analyst will work on several projects simultaneously, following business processes through all applications to complete projects. Candidates may interact with business or technical users through all levels of operations and management to provide understanding and insight in all application oriented business processes. Analyst must have the ability to work as part of a team. Effective time management, analytical thinking skills, organization skills, and the ability to communicate effectively is important in role.

Business Analyst roles relate to specific business domains and specialization or experience in specific domains may vary depending on open position.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire’s Quality System.

  • Understand BioFire’s technical and scientific mission. Understand technical and functional components of BioFire Diagnostics.

  • Participate in collaboration efforts with global application teams (e.g. bioMérieux France, Cognizant dev teams of shore, etc).

  • Participate in supplier sourcing and negotiation requirements as needed.

  • Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/ tactical plans based on business and market data.

  • Participate in all applicable phases of the project life cycle and software life cycle.

  • Partner with the business by gaining an understanding of their needs and contribute to solutions that meet their goals/objectives.

  • Perform project tasks including design, develop, test, and validation of complex business solutions like SAP and CRM.

  • Prepare comprehensive and thorough technical documentation. (e.g. technical specifications, V&V forms, etc.)

  • Provide excellent ongoing customer service and adhere to internal and external service level agreements.

  • Follow standards for change control and configuration management with a focus on communication to primary, secondary and tertiary level stakeholders.

  • Identify risks to project deliverables and recommend mitigation strategy as needed. Develop alternative solutions as required.

  • Participate in cross functional teams to ensure proper integration of business process and procedure requirements.

  • Support user adoption efforts related to new applications, change management and business process flow.

  • General knowledge of IT applications and infrastructure environment, identify and utilize new trends in field of IT.

  • Complete projects on time with minimal supervision.

  • Continually update technical knowledge and skills.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Training and Education:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, IS, IT or related field or equivalent experience

  • Business domain focused degree or related experience preferred

Experience:

  • Business Analyst III: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required; Business Analyst IV: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with ERP (SAP) and/or other similar business platforms required

Skills:

  • Understands SAP systems infrastructure and how it relates to business processes.

  • Experience in customer services with a high record of customer satisfaction.

  • Experience in software development lifecycle especially quality assurance processes.

  • Experience working with applications like SAP, Salesforce, and Jira a plus.

  • Understands software best practices.

  • Orientation for detail work product, with emphasis or accuracy and completeness.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and flow chart software.

  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively.

  • Must demonstrate ability to complete objectives without high levels of supervision.

  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer is planned and executed to support systems, process, people post project delivery.
