Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Electro-Mechanical Engineer. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Salt Lake City, UT.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Factory Test Services organization. The selected candidate will work in a high performing team of engineers working in design of new test equipment and maintenance of legacy test equipment. The work is challenging and draws from multiple disciplines of study. Our test equipment is used to calibrate and test state-of-the-art inertial navigation systems and other sensors.
Roles and Responsibilities
Analyze and document test equipment requirements
Design new test equipment to meet requirements
Create and update electrical and mechanical drawings using CAD tools
Resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues with test equipment
Write and modify test and calibration procedures
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor's)
Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM discipline
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
Experience in Solidworks, AutoCAD, Altium, or comparable mechanical or electrical CAD software
Experience in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical problems
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
Good presentation and writing/communication skills
Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment
Experience in working with the following communication interfaces: serial, MIL-STD 1553, IEEE-488 or TCP/IP
Proficiency with SolidWorks or Altium CAD packages
Experience in working in an engineering environment supporting manufacturing
