Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT with travel to El Segundo, CA. Initial 3 months, travel will be 50%, then 25% through Q4 2021. This position will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.

Job Description:

NG Space Systems has an opening for a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role will continue the maturation of the models and flight simulations used to assess guidance system performance from Preliminary Design phase to a Critical Design Review and beyond. The role includes:

  • Developing, verifying, and validating the modeling and simulation baseline to enable high confidence assessment of GN&C system performance

  • Using first principles to derive and update models, define test cells to validate existing models, and communicate model data and performance to all relevant teams for incorporation into simulation products

  • Developing and updating simulations of subsystem and vehicle performance

  • Active stakeholder in model baseline for all inertial sensor, control effector, and vehicle models used for accuracy and flight trajectory modeling.

  • Performing in an integrated team in a highly dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities

This position reports directly to the GN&C Analysis and Algorithms Lead and receives direct tasking from the GN&C Modeling and Simulation Leads.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off
