We are looking for dedicated technical leaders who want to work for one of “Utah’s Most Admired Companies”. The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining software programs that run the business. The technical lead will be responsible for ensuring high quality technical implementation of applications and projects.

  • Contribute to and evangelize Enterprise Application Architecture vision and strategy.

  • Develop software that ensures a high level of performance for all business use-case outliers, including web page performance, SQL performance, memory optimizations, etc.

  • Heavy involvement in the requirements gathering, development and operation stages of new projects

  • Troubleshoot and debug related software defects with existing and new applications

  • Contribute to and help maintain enterprise application architecture standards, guidelines and best practices.

  • Ensure all designs comply with architecture standards, guidelines and meet the necessary governance and compliance.

  • A strong focus on highly scalable applications

  • Responsible for ensuring the entire team is developing applications based on predefined best practices and architecture principles.

  • Research emerging development technologies establishing new standards and evolve existing standards

  • Ensure the success and growth of the team by mentoring and coaching junior peers while striving to share your knowledge with senior peers

  • Work in an agile environment

  • Maintain and improve existing applications

  • Strong desire to learn our full technology stack

  • Responsible for responding to application outages

  • Capable of leading a team of developers ensuring the team delivers a quality project

  • Perform code reviews with others on the team while taking joint responsibility for proper architecture, design and quality of other’s projects

  • Ensure deliverables across engineering teams are of high quality and clearly documented

  • Collaboratively create solutions to streamline delivery, improve quality and reduce costs of support for our applications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years’ experience developing software

  • Strong data architecture experience

  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD concepts.

  • Proficiency in Java and related frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring, SpringBoot

  • Experience in a JavaScript technology such as Node.js, React, Vue.js

  • Experience architecting and implementing RESTful web service solutions

  • Experience with microservices a plus

  • Experience in Salesforce.com, AWS and/or Heroku a plus

  • Excellent communication and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics to both technical and non-technical staff; ability to articulate business issues/concerns with staff, peers, superiors, and outside parties

  • Experience working in an Agile environment, including close collaboration with Product
