Global Payments, Inc. Senior Software Engineer in Lindon, Utah


Apply software design theories and principles, perform complex work in research, design and development of new or existing products, tools and processes required for the operation, maintenance and testing of products. Modify existing software packages to fit unique customer needs and configurations. Carry out validation of successive versions of software to integrate with total system hardware. Work with Marketing to ensure the best possible commercialization of the product.

Job Details:

  • A degree in computer science, Engineering or any equivalent major preferred

  • At least 5 years of software development experience.

  • Ability to contribute to a socially collaborative, cohesive and supportive environment.

  • Professional Experience with Java in a Spring Boot environment

  • Professional Experience with JavaScript Client side web development using one of the following libraries React/Angular/Vue/Ember

  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable Web API solutions using the REST pattern.

  • Experience using SQL and SWL Management Tools - Postgres primarily; secondarily: MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle Db

  • Experience designing and implementing scalable Web service solutions.

  • Experience with cloud-based hosting is a big plus - AWS primarily; secondarily: GCP, Azure, etc.

  • Experience with IntelliJ, Git, Jira, Confluence, GSuite, Postman or equivalents is a plus


  • A love and passion for mentoring junior engineers.

  • Knowledge of: Payment Processing, PCI Standards, Software Usability, Software Architecture, Systems Administration, Information Security

  • Experience creating Linux and Windows Containers using docker files.

  • Experience implementing Kubernetes solutions and creating relevant YAML files for a scalable set of microservices.

  • Experience designing, analyzing the results of and troubleshooting load tests for Web applications and APIs using Locust, JMeter or other equivalent tools.
