Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

About the Job
The Oracle Utility Analytical Insights team at Oracle, is a cross-functional team of application developers, big data engineers, data scientists, and administrators who load and analyze the billions of utility data reads we receive each month. Our administrators work closely with other engineers in an agile development environment in designing the infrastructure that supports everything from ETL and ingest pipelines to data science research and batch machine learning processes.
Work on capacity planning and designing scalable, automated and HA solutions
Develop complex Database administration automation and monitoring scripts
Monitor and troubleshoot Oracle Database performance
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for DBA tasks and projects
Perform database upgrades and pluggable database migrations
Periodically perform backup/recovery to validate the backup/recover procedures
Evaluate new database features and make recommendations
Manage the database Information Life Cycle activities
Provide escalation support for database related issues
Be a strong contributor to development of platform services including architecture, provisioning, configuration, deployment, and support
Partner with the other cloud services teams in prototyping new platform services
Desired Skills and Experience:
At least 8 years of experience managing critical production databases.
Experience working with container database with pluggable databases and versions 13c/12c and above is highly desired.
Experience working with Oracle Exadata systems is a great plus.
Experience managing mysql databases is highly desired.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Electric Engineering or equivalent.
Prior experience working with or part of Cloud Operations/DevOps/SRE teams.
Understanding of OEM 12c/13c
Oracle certifications like OCA, OCP, OCM
High availability solutions like Golden Gate, Data Guard
Expert level understanding and hands on with Oracle RAC
Experience in troubleshooting performance problems with database and queries
Expertise developing automated scripts using bash, Python or any other language.
Demonstrated operations experience with Linux platform (i.e. RHEL, OEL) including administration, management, and troubleshooting
Prior experience supporting production systems and software
