PassiveLogic Compiler Engineer - Swift AutoDiff & AI Toolchain Development in Holladay, Utah
We have a position for a compiler engineer to work on Swift auto-differentiation features, introspection, and ML toolchain advancements. This includes developing compiler and library support and performance optimizations for heterogeneous neural networks, deep physics, and well as conventional network graphs targeting CPU, GPU, and NPU contexts.
This position includes the supporting PassiveLogic engineering efforts, and contributing and managing the company efforts towards the larger Swift and S4TF open source communities.

What you will be doing
Developing Swift auto-differentiation features
Developing Swift introspection features
Driving company heterogeneous compute strategy and toolchain to target GPU, TPU & NPU devices
Helping collaborate with the broader open source community.
You must have
Strong understanding of compilers, toolchains, and compiler engineering
Strong understanding of differentiable computing and auto-differentiation
Experience with LLVM based toolchains
Experience working on open source projects.
Ability to manage software components, and source control and develop a test harness.
Ability to contribute individually, architecturally, and in group programming
B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or related field
You should have
A working understanding of Swift or Swift for Tensorflow (S4TF)
A strong understanding of the Swift SIL
Versed with GPU, NPU, TPU compute targets
It's helpful to have
An understanding of AI toolchains, MLIR, XLA, OpenCL, CUDA, TVM, etc
Experience with computational Simulation methods, physical modeling, or statistical analysis
Versed with Linux OS, ideally in limited resource environments
Versed with MacOS, and MacOS toolchains.
