What you will be doing
Working in an engineering team developing the interface for the company's building automation platform. You will develop protocol support for a wide number of transports and automation protocols. You will help develop semantic mappings and evolve our semantic ontology to work across a wide number of wired and wireless automation communication protocols.
You must have
B.S. in Computer Engineering or related field
3+ years experience in related field
Strong experience with the BACnet standard and protocol stack
Strong systems and/or applications programming skills (e.g. C++, C, Swift, Rust, etc)
Strong experience with serial protocols and network standards (TCP/IP, UDP, etc)
Expertise resolving ambiguity in design requirements
Experience in data modeling, design patterns, and software architecture
Experience applying Computer Science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
Test-driven development practices
You should have
Understanding of evolving standards in the automation market (ASHRAE 223, Brick, Haystack, etc)
Experience with network protocols and embedded communication protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, Ethernet, USB, RS485, etc)
Experience with other industry automation protocols (Modbus, KNX, N2, etc)
Experience with wireless transports (Bluetooth, Mesh, WIFI, enOcean, Zigbee, LoRA, etc)
Strong experience designing, debugging and supporting embedded systems
It's helpful to have
Swift language experience
Experience working with semantic ontologies and RDF/OWL
Experience with several programming paradigms, such as object-oriented, functional, data-driven, protocol oriented, and/or reactive programming
