Experience Software Engineer - Hill AFB, Utah

Boeing is seeking highly motivated Experienced (Level 3) Engineers to support real time embedded Vehicle Management System (VMS) software development, integration and test. These VMS will provide mission critical guidance and control for Boeing Minuteman III Guidance Sustainment systems. Work will be performed at the Boeing Layton or Hill AFB locations in Utah. This will be in support of the Flight Software for Operational Missile Systems.

credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Position Summary:

Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system. Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Supports software project management and software supplier management functions. Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics. Performs software research and trade studies. Troubleshoots software issues. Works under general supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:

This position will support the Flight Software for Operational Missile Systems. 

Assist in developing architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for real time embedded software systems supporting a diverse set of VMS platforms.

Assist in integrating software components into fully functional software systems to meet a wide variety of mission goals and customers

Assist in developing software verification plans, test procedures and test environments.

Execute tests at multiple levels to verify VMS software performance

Implement state of the art software development practices, processes and tools to create a world class production system for VMS software and related products

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearances, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (Post Start)

Must possess Engineering or Mathematics Bachelor Degree or higher

Must have Experience or coursework with real time embedded system architectures and designs

Must have Experience or coursework developing real time embedded software components

5+ Experience or coursework in computer programming in C, C#, C++, Ada or other common programming languages

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or coursework developing VMS software and/or associated real time simulation systems

Typical

Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position is located in a location that does not offer
