This position is for the AFNWC ICBM Directorate ISC 2.0 project.

  • Oversees planning, staffing, and budgetary matters to ensure timely delivery of contractual commitments to the government

  • Manages all aspects of a major Air Force contracts to include leadership, technical performance, personnel and financial performance

  • May be asked to direct or will direct (depending on seniority) and manage all personnel issues to include interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation and determining proper compensation

  • Organizes and oversees technical performance on the contract and ensure delivery of all required deliverables

  • Communicates daily with peers within the business unit as well as customers, Site Leads and Senior Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to identify and resolve problems and challenges to ensure sound execution of contracted effort to include successfully resolving issues requiring senior level (government and corporate) attention

  • Travels (sometimes frequent) to various program sites as necessary to ensure sound program execution

  • Identifies, develops, and implements efficiencies that enhance productivity and/or reduce overall contract costs to the government

  • Leads, guides and mentors other team members

  • Strong leadership and the ability to develop/lead a high performing team focused on the customers mission

  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel)

  • Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision


Principal- BS Degree in any engineering discipline AND MS Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering + 15 years of related experience OR PhD Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering + 9 years of related experience

• Experience with integration and testing of optical communications systems or component sub-systems• Working knowledge of communication engineering theory and application• Experience providing technical solution of complex communication problems• Ability to communicate and collaborate with inter-organizational teams/employees and outside customer contacts• At least 1 yr experience with antenna specifications, testing, and RF data collection• Experience with network spectrum analyzers, software defined radios, and sub wavelength analysis• Experience in lab environments with setup of radios, running experiments, collecting data, providing routine maintenance, and recording accurate documentation• Experience with any RF type communications protocols• Experience with programming software defined radios• Knowledge of Very Low Frequency (VLF) communications• Knowledge of different antenna types and capabilities• Knowledge of High Frequency (HF) analogue and digital techniques• Knowledge of signal propagation with RF, HF, and VLF• Principal skill set includes ability to perform all stated/implied duties within this tier and those reasonably derived from preceding tiers.

  • Depending on level communications-engineering services AND possible technical leadership of engineering team


  • Professional Engineering License desired

  • Systems Engineering Certification desired

  • ICBM experience desired

  • TS clearance desired

  • Other relevant core and advanced certifications as established/required per local, national and international industry standards or as necessitated by performance expectations associated with level of appointment
