Proofpoint Software Engineer Part-Time Intern – Undergrad in Draper, Utah

The Role:
The Data Science team is responsible for applying machine learning and AI across Proofpoint’s products. We work closely with a number of teams throughout Proofpoint to assess opportunities for successful application of machine learning/artificial intelligence to significantly differentiate our product offers and delight customers.
As an Intern, you will assist with the implementation of our data ingest and real time predictive analytics platform as well as partner closely with our software engineers and data scientists to implement models for predictive analytics. You will also work in a continuous deliver environment, helping to automate tests to ensure that the system remains stable under continuous software and data updates.
What you bring to the team:
Proficiency in python, exposure to scikit-learn and Tensorflow is a plus
Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms, process, tools and platforms
Understanding of distributed computing principles
Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases
Basic understanding of data exploration techniques
You have the ability and interest in working Part- time (30 hours/week maximum) virtually and in our Draper office (once it is safe to do so). You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree and are successfully maintaining an above average GPA, preferably 3.0 or higher. This internship is scheduled to start immediately through August 2021.
