JOB SUMMARY

The Software Developer is responsible for the technical specification, development and documentation of systems utilized by Certiport customers and partners. The Software Developer reports to the Manager of Systems Development, and is responsible for adhering to company practices throughout the software development process. Additionally, the Software Developer plays an integral role on project teams as assigned, and is responsible to the team and the project manager for successful completion of assigned work. Key accountability revolves around following Certiport’s process for software development and meeting delivery dates and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Software Design and Development

  • Actively participate in the Agile SCRUM process with the team.

  • Participate in the design of systems to be developed.

  • Provide time estimates for software development.

  • Develop the software to meet the requirements and design.

  • Participate as required in design and code reviews.

  • Follow prescribed procedures for code documentation, revision control and system documentation.

  • As assigned, participate as a member of project teams, meeting accepted milestones.

  • Communicate modifications, schedule adjustments and known issues to project management.

  • Work with a combined DevOps team from development to deployment.

  • Software Quality Assurance

  • Perform unit testing on developed code.

  • Create automated unit tests for use by developers and QA.

  • Work with QA team members to evaluate, identify and correct software defects.

  • Career Development

  • Stay abreast of industry practices and technologies to be used in the development process.

  • Meetings

  • Attend and participate in team, department and company meetings.

Qualifications

Required Education and/or experience :

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent science preferred, but combined experience and skills will be considered

  • Object-oriented development experience

  • 3 years of experience developing Windows solutions using Microsoft technologies

  • 3 years of experience with .NET development

  • 3 years C#

  • REST services experience

Preferred skills/experience:

  • UI/UX experience

  • Cloud, Microsoft Azure development experience

  • Proficiency with SQL, XML, HTML, JavaScript frameworks

  • Azure DevOps or Team Foundation Server experience

  • Agile process experience
